IT'S BACK TO THE REAL WORLD TOMORROW...

Can you remember spending days with your grandparents?... I have precious memories of my Grandparents. My Grandparents had an Island in Georgian Bay, and every summer my sisters and I would spend time with them gathering memories we would talk about for the rest of our lives...Here are two of our sweeties...Tenley Joy and Owen...We have them for one more day. Crafting is huge when they come to our house... I have a Jewelry studio, Mixed media room and a Sewing room!!! Sooooo, we just hop from one to the other crafting our little brains out, ( so to speak!!!) Ha!

We wrote our names with shells...

and created the most BEAUTIFUL.... "Princess Crown"...

The Princess and her Royal Subject posing so nicely....

Of course no day is complete until all the dinosaurs are "Locked Up"...The Big chicken is keeping watch and the little dino "Nursery" is on the right...

Tomorrow...it's back to the real world, awhhh shucks!!!! xoxo~Kathy~

We take "Tubbies "at night, and we Read lots of books.

It Rained on our Parade but didn't dampen our spirits...

We spent the weekend at this Up-North Golf Resort , The Garland...Although we didn't golf due to RAIN...we have the pleasure of returning again when the sun shines... Thought I would share some photos of the Grounds and Resort area...
Entrance to the main lodge...Love the carved doors. A huge facility with wonderful dining options and evening entertainment...
The landscaping was impeckable and covered multiple acres ....

The greens were beautiful...even though flooded!!!...We had a few moments of sunshine and I was lucky enough to get these shots...

There were such diverse views at every turn...

We enjoyed just walking in the rain and experiencing all the little landscaping surprises around each corner...Not only a wonderful place to golf but an exceptional "Eye Candy" type walk...If your ever in the area it is a must stop, near Lewiston Michigan...

The grounds were the perfect example of Michigans lush forests and outdoor life...
Our little cabin in the woods...

The Logs were huge...

Cedar roofing covered with lichen and moss... We are looking forward to our "Raincheck" golf sometime in the near future...When was the last time you got away for a little weekend ?...Maybe it's time, xoxo~Kathy~...

What color dresses do your HOLLYHOCKS wear?...

Did you make sweet little dolls out of Hollyhocks when you were young?... We passed many hours using those lovely blooms as Princess dresses, and Fairy skirts...changing the colors, such fun we had using our imaginations...

These girls have grown quite tall...

Wouldn't this one make a nice dress?...

You can see we've had a little rain...

I will save the seeds from the old blooms and plant them for next years crop...a natural cycle...and one I look forward too...Enjoy this weekend my friends, we are off to a Golf weekend and hoping it doesn't rain...xoxo~Kathy

Soldering 101...a finished project.

Have been teaching myself to solder.... So far it has proven to be a little harder then it appears...Can you see the REAL tail feathers I've added to this bird? His expression looks somewhat apprehensive...Like he may be afraid to Jump! .. So I thought I would encourage him !...
I made the tag with a "B" for bird... since I don't really know his name...

He hangs on my new sea green pot in the living room... so I guess this would be a form of "Art Layering"...xoxo~Kathy

It's nice and dry inside and the Lasagna is almost done....

No reason why we can't bring out the good stuff just cause we're eating alone...someone might drop by...
Mismatched silver, my favorite...
The candle holder and the plate have the same "Goose bumps" I guess they are glad to see me...!

A lovely white table runner I just found at the GW...

The different textures ....

Coffee mugs...Goodwill. I enjoyed their shape and color...
I needed someone to keep me company this evening...who better then a little feathered friend!... He even brought dessert...Egg colored Jordon Almonds... A favorite wine...San Sabastian Vintners White...which is not sold in Michigan. It is made in Florida...That is a whole story in itself...

What good is La Vino without a good cheese and cracker...

The georgeous white dinner plates are by Kate Williams...

Must get some Studio work done today...but your welcome to stroll through my yard...

As everything seems to be thriving so well , here are a few more shots of the outside... Hollyhocks are almost ready to bloom... Hot pink!

I love Hostas... they are pretty self-sufficient...

Bittersweet, Lilacs, Rose bushes and False Indigo....We need to get out there and do a little trimming before the Bittersweet completely devours us...

Our day will be rainy today... but that's okay...I need to work down in the studio and accomplish some Jewelry...May your day be a creative one, xoxo~Kathy.

LIFE OUTSIDE THE HOME...

Consider the life outside your home.....Bleeding hearts... Always an honor to find the beginnings of new life on the land and safely tucked in a tree...
False Indigo....If I were to name it I would call this "True Indigo"...

The smell of a lilac is so delicious you can almost taste it...

Cement Art...

Enjoy your evening my friends...~Kathy.

The Making of ..."THE SAUCE"

It's a Barbeque Sauce kind of day... Do you have recipes that are kept in your family ONLY??? Well... Mr. Wonderfuls grandfather owned a meat market for years back in the day and invented this wonderful recipe for what has come to be known as ..."THE SAUCE".

I'll be the first to say it is a lovely "Sauce" and my men like to eat it on everything...They get together once a year to carry on this "Man Cave" type ritual of making "THE SAUCE"

I, for one am delighted THEY do it ....That releaves me from having to endure the very pungent smell of it for FIVE HOURS... as it boils down and thickens...

My son "THE CHIROPRACTOR", (who couldn't even change his cloths from the office he was so excited to get started)... and of course "THE LOVE OF MY LIFE"...

Now they can make it through another year....Presenting..."THE SAUCE"... wait a minute!.. Did I just hear right?... You'd like to have the SAUCE making ritual at your house next year???
Great!!!! Go buy a mask and open your windows, xoxo~Kathy.
