EASY TO MAKE WHITE STAR...A WHITE CHRISTMAS PROJECT...

Remember the coasters a few posts back?... Well, I had some fabric left and decided to make this star pillow...and I'm glad I did. No pattern...I just used a star I already have hanging on the wall ...traced it onto the fabric...cut out two pieces...sew together with right sides facing...leave an opening...stuff with fiberfill and whipstitch closed...sew two buttons on with quilting or upholstery thread...voila!!!...

Buttons from Walmart...

A little more white Christmas love...

Been waiting for my mantel to start looking a little chippy...I think I've arrived...

We're heading for a White Christmas here....What color will your Christmas be?...xoxo~Kathy.

PRACTICE...PRACTICE...

There is something about making things with your own two hands that ushers in a sense of accomplishment and joy...and it's never too early to teach our littlest ones... My grandmother taught me to knit at a very young age....as I have been teaching my Grandaughters...They love it!...and catch on quickly if I do say so myself....
Creating this stocking below was not only fun but a sweet time of remembering my precious Grandmother and her endless patience when my little hands couldn't get it just right.....Practice...Practice she would say....she was right...

SANTA WOULDN'T DARE LEAVE A STICK AND A PIECE OF COAL IN THIS STOCKING!!!...

After changing my cottage colors to pastels the traditional Christmas stocking had to change also...instead of purchasing , I decided to knit one...to compliment my decor... White, Pink, Green and of course a little BLING!..

I used different types of yarn, synthetic, cotton and an angora for the cuff... The bling are buttons sewed on last...A fun Christmas project...

A little fringy ball on the toe!...

The heel....the tricky part... Once finished ...filled with cotton batting to give it some shape and stuck in some silvery glittered branches...Merry Christmas to me!...

I do like the results...

Use your favorite sox pattern and just elongate the leg section to your liking... NOT a KNITTER?...Hit the Goodwill or Thrift store of your choice and buy a sweater that catches your eye...Cut out the shape and sew it up! The embellishing is the fun part!...Have fun with this! xoxo~Kathy...

A CHRISTMAS PROJECT TO SHARE...

Merry Christmas preparations...another project you might enjoy doing ....to put your signature on your decor... Instead of buying coasters for the tables....decided to make them ...I needed white. Purchased some quilted material ...cut out the squares...sewed two together (right sides facing)... leave a little opening...turn inside out and whip stitch opening...There! They would have been fine like that but....I can never leave well enough alone...Put a little extra design on each with the sewing machine...a quick and satisfying little project...These would be cute shaped like ornaments or any favorite Christmas image...Have fun!...

Sorry about that fleck of whatever that is!!!

May your day be happy as you COAST through to Christmas...xoxo~Kathy ...
