YARD BUILDING ART...ON MY WALL!

See the picture hanging on the divider?...

Last weekend I fell in love with it at our local Art show in Cadillac Mi....

basically because it was all the colors in my living room and it called to me, (doesn't take much!)

CLOSE UP....

It is a 3-d Multiple photographic image, cut out and assembled to give a 3-d effect when framed.

It is made by a husband and wife team...Robert and Jacqueline Russell from Kentwood Michigan .


As Dave and I were riding through "FRANKFORT" Mi. the otherday to take a 3 hr. boat trip to see the dunes along lake Michigan, I yelled....."Stop the car!!! There's my picture!!!!"

Dave said, "only you would have noticed that!"

I was so shocked to see the very building I purchased the artwork of!!!!!

The photos for the art must have been taken a while back....the building is a little worse for wear at this point but still wonderful!

Here's the little beauty...as it looks today!

I was so excited to just happen upon these happy, whimsical structures I shot a few photos to share WITH YOU...

Now every time I look at my "Art work"....I know where it REALLY lives!

AN UPDATE ON DAVE....

TODAY WE SPENT THE ENTIRE SUNDAY HAVING SCANS DONE.

MRI...OF THE BRAIN,

CT...SCAN OF THE LUNGS , CHEST AND ABDOMINAL AREA,

AND A TOTAL BODY BONE SCAN.

THE MRI...MACHINE BROKEDOWN AT ONE HOSPITAL SO WE WERE SENT TO ANOTHER.

BY 4 IN THE AFTERNOON WE WERE DONE.

THURSDAY WE MEET WITH THE ONCOLOGIST TO GO OVER THESE SCANS....

WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING SOME HUGE DECIONS AS TO HOW WE WANT TO TREAT THIS.

OUR MEETING WITH UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN DRS. WAS NOT PROMISING AND WHEN IT WAS ALL SAID AND DONE LEFT US EVEN MORE CONFUSED.

THE FORM OF CHEMO BEING OFFERED NEXT IS VERY UNFORGIVING...

HAIR LOSS AND EVERY SIDE EFFECT YOU CAN THINK OF NOT TO MENTION WHAT PERMANENT DAMAGE IT MAY LEAVE IN IT'S WAKE.

DAVE FEELS SO GOOD RIGHT NOW...NO SYMPTOMS WHATSOEVER, HARD TO IMAGINE ALL THIS IS GOING ON INSIDE OF HIM.

AFTER OUR MEETING THIS THURSDAY WITH THE ONCOLOGIST WE WILL DECIDE WHICH ROAD WE'RE GOING TO TAKE.

THE LORD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL IN DIRECTING OUR PATH THUS FAR AND THANKFULLY DAVE AND I ARE BOTH ON THE SAME PAGE ABOUT THE TREATMENT.

WILL SHARE MORE AFTER THURSDAY...

From Dark...to DELIGHTFUL, SHABBY , COTTAGE...

Out junkin with my man last weekend....He spoted this DARK wood room divider and thought I could do something with it.

Brought her home and we sanded each panel down seperately...

Primed each panel with a product called "Grabber"...a Glidden product at Home Depot.

I'm NOT a Glidden fan necessarily but.....

I'm sold on it now!...Does a bang-up job as a primer.
Now for the FUN part!!!!!!!!!

I had it in my brain that each panel should be a different "cottage" color....

so that's what I did!... I've already had it numerous places in the house...

for your photo shoot it's in the living room.

I smile everytime I look at it...
Happy bowls to match the happy room divider....

MEET MY TALENTED FRIEND...and her amazing Shop!

Some things are just toooooooo good to keep to yourself!!!!

About a year ago my friend Delphine Miller opened her very own Quilt Shop in Gaylord Michigan.

It's fabulous and one of the happiest places I've ever been.

Delphine is a par excellance Quilter,(published) and instructor.

The moment you enter Delphine's your senses are assulted with color, texture and I do think my heart starts to beat a little faster!!!!

My last visit a few weeks ago I remembered my camera....

now you get to check her out from the comfort of your favorite chair!

Enjoy and I encourage you to check out her site from time to time as she is always away buying and bringing the lastest and greatest into the shop.
