  15. I would love to go sometime, but not this year. I talked to someone recently who went last year and they said that it is really overwhelming to be there. So many people!!!! I will just settle for watching on TV. Hope you are doing well this week. Still praying for your sweet hubby!!! Love & blessings from NC!

  18. Kathy-I was just checking in on you! Yes, I have been. About five years ago my daughter and I spent Thanksgiving in NYC with her best friend and my SIL! We loved it!!! I have never been any colder than I was at that parade! We even got to chat with Al Roker doing a promo in front of one the Macy's windows a couple of days before the parade! Hope all is well with you!

  19. Hello,
New Follower here via Paris Hotel Boutique...what a lovely blog you have!
I am the biggest kid every Thanksgiving morning, having to get up and make a special breakfast watching the parade. On my bucket list, too. Always wanted to eat Thanksgiving dinner at Tavern on the Green afterwards, but they recently closed!
Come visit my blog if you get the chance! Would love to have you!

As a little girl my parents took us kids to the Rose bowl parade in LA. I remember it being fun, but there was a lot of people and Mom and Dad had us all hold hands...Hehehe

  23. My father in law treated us to the parade in 2004. We stayed at the Doubletree with a perfect view from our room. Some of us watched from up there and others braved the crowds on the street.

All in all a well worth it trip. Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel, ice skating at Rockefeller Center and Christmas shopping at Macy's. Will probably never happen again for us!

Hope you get to do it!

  27. I hope you can fulfill your dream, Kathy .... I once went to the Rose Bowl in Portland, OR but do not go to anywhere for parades since then.

My bucket list is complete ... truly! Everything else we do is sheer gravy & I am loving the gravy.

Love your pic of the skies, awesome. And, that recipe is definitely going in on a rainy day baking moment.

Prayers are still lifting for you both ... TYSM for sharing this yummy recipe.

    Have a BOO-TEA-FUL weekend.

  31. I have lived in NY all my life and I have never been! It is hard to serve Tgiving dinner and still go to the parade. All the traffic etc.
I leave it for the tourists!
You are in my prayers, this most difficult time. I see you posting on Monique's and I remember to come visit, but I am praying!
