Latest up-date on my LOVE....

Yesterday we met with the oncologist and both surgeons ...
There is more cancer in the liver then they expected , on the posterior side now.
what was thought to be on the diaphram is also along the wall of the abdominal cavity.
The pathology report just came back on the nature of the abdominal wall cancers...
Neuro-Endocrin Cancer....a second type of cancer.
I told my husband..."You've always been an over achiever....couldn't be content with just one cancer"!
You say crazy things when your in shock...
Now the Thermo-Chemo wash...( the big surgery) is not an option as the new cancers do not respond well to chemo.
Long story short...the team at Spectrum wants to get University of Michigans "Think Tank" involved , just to make sure the plan of attack is the best.
We asked the tough questions...life expectancy without doing anything?
12 months to 2 years.
Tomorrow -Thurs , Dave will undergo a new type of scan that is supposed to illuminate where the new cancers are.
Right now it's a big scramble to get the heads together and try and move forward.
There are options...too laborious to go into at this time.
Mostly to add months...not years.
We are both resting in the arms of God...waiting and listening.
As I write this my Love is out running and getting ready to help our son build a deck on his home....is this not the craziest thing you've ever heard of?
How can a dying man run in half marathons????
I will be away for a few days from the blog...
needing some alone time with the Lord to wrap my head around this...
The son is shining here today...Thank You for your faithful prayers...
Love to you all,
xoxo~Kathy.

  2. You just cannot imagine how sad this makes me, sweetpea. My hubs had a colonoscopy about 5 years ago and they found a cancerous polyp, removed it and he's been fine ever since. I always knew he'd be fine because of my faith in the Lord. I cannot even imagine a life without this wonderful man in it. I'll pray for him and YOU, sugar, most fervently. Miracles DO happen, chickee. I KNOW they do.

  9. Dearest Kathy~
I will keep your family in my prayers. I know how tough it is to go through cancer. I am a cancer survivor that was told I had 6 months and 20 years later I am still here and still in remission. I believe in the power of miracles and your husband sounds so much like I was...continuing to do things and being an inspiration to others to not give up.
Much love to you and yours,

  12. You can't wrap your head around this one, sweetie. And please don't isolate yourself..
Sweet hubby is doing the right thing, we cannot let it win, remember. I know the pain you are feeling, this cancer thing is on my inner abdominal wall, too. Do this while you are resting...research Sandostatin Injections and ask your doctors to look at that. It won't kill my cancer, but keeps it at bay, keeps it from spreading...just a thought. Remember to be your own advocate and research a lot.
    I love you.
I feel so bad for you both.
I don't want to see you isolate yourself, and I feel in my spirit you may be wanting to do that...just withdaw...think about it...???
    I'm here for you...
    mucho loveo...kiddo.
