SURPRISES ARE NOT ALL THEIR CRACKED UP TO BE...

Good Evening everyone...
Today was a long one ...for everyone, especially Dave.
The colon surgery went off without a hitch...
The liver surgery was cancelled.
Once the Liver surgeon started looking around ,
additional cancer cells were detected above the liver on the Diaphram wall hugging the liver.
Dr. Chung biopsied them right there in the O.R. to be sure.
Following through with the origionally planned surgery would not have been enough to take care of this new finding.
So .....
for now Dave is resting well, I will stay here next to him through this first post-op evening...
Tomorrow we will talk with Dr.Chung about the options we have before us from this point .
Tonight I will take refuge in the arms of God.
Tomorrow when everything always looks brighter...
We will put our Armour back on and stand firmly against this foe.
Our love to you all...
xoxo~Kathy

  4. Oh Kathy,
I am so sorry to hear this news!! I know your heart must be broken to say the least. Know that we care hon, and that we are praying!!
Hubby and I have been lifting you guys up daily.
We will pray for wisdom for the Drs. as well.
Hope you can get some sleep, I know only too well that is not very easy, when the love of your life is threatened.

Oh Lord, I pray that you will give Kathy sweet sleep tonight, and that things will indeed look brighter in the morning. I pray that Dave will
rest very well and be feeling amazingly well tomorrow. I pray for your spirit to be so on them and to fill them with such peace and comfort during this difficult time. They have
been an awesome witness for you thru this time,
and I pray you give the physical victory in this situation. Wrap your arms around them, and shelter them from the taunts and fear of the enemy, because it is in Jesus Name we ask it!!
    Love to you hon,
    Nellie
    Keep us posted sweetie.

  21. Oh I am so sorry for the disappointment.
Praying that you are both resting in Peace tonight. Because we know the one who made the Master plan. He does not just have a plan, He has "The" plan. "I have it all planned out, plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for" (Jer. 29:11)
    May your morning be brighter!

  31. Dave and Kathy, Friday I prayed all day for God to guide the surgeons hands for Daves healing, the new findings from the wonderful surgeon is remarkable, not news we wanted to hear but somehow I feel most surgeons would not have explored this area, now the road becomes longer and I know my brother, he travels each road with God as his co-pilot, the tragic car accident in the past is witness to this and God will fold him in his arms and embrace this new travel. I will continue to offer up prayers for Dave and the entire family as the journey continues, the Praise Team here at St. Peters also keeps Dave in their prayers and will continue. The power of Prayer is often silent but visual to witness. Dave is a Leader in Christ, Corinthians 11:l, "Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ", I for one will follow my brother thru this journey, we all have the opportunity to take the things we believe and confess and live them out, Dave will live this out.
    All My Love, Donna

Oh goodness gracious! How are you two doing?. Like you say, but on the armor and face things head on and do what you have to do.You need some rest too, I know some hospitals can bring a cot in for when a wife or husband wants to send the night. Please know we will keep Dave in our thoughts and prayers.
I am here for you, we all are!
    Prayers are very powerful.
