We removed the closet bi-fold doors along with the track...

turned the closet space into a serving area.

The rolling cabinet was in the kitchen...now it serves as a storage cabinet for silverware, glasses and such.

The mirror was a previous find...repurposed the frame to match the room.

David had made the pine cupboard years ago when we were inspired by one we saw in a General Store in Petoskey Michigan. It's the only piece of furniture in the room that is natural.
The nitch above the opening is the perfect place for displaying my white pitchers...

Sigh.................................................................................................

Think I could leave a feather tree up all year long?????....

Spent quite some time painting and sanding frames and mirrors...

Still more to come....

Kathy.

Your dining room or should I say "dreaming room" just gets lovelier and lovelier. I think the closet space redo is fabulous and the cabinet made by David is so wonderful. Love all the little drawers.

  8. I love the niche and yes it is perfect for the pitchers. I have to admit though that my eyes went right for the bowl on the table with the silver balls and candle! I have a major thing for silver Christmas ornaments and love to see them all year long.
I would leave the tree out, the ambient light is lovely! Have a great weekend....

  9. I love what you did with the closet niche. And, yes - you can leave the feather tree up all year long. Who says it has to be a Christmas tree? It could be a Valentine's tree, a St. Patricks tree - you get the idea! Just change the name to fit the season.
