A GOOD DAY FOR TWINKY LIGHTS AND CANDLES....

Living in the third grayest state in the country presents one with two choices...Live in the dark or lighten up your world! Decided to leave the little white lights up all year on the mantel...

Probably breaking a decorating rule...Oh well...I'm good at that.

Light the candles too...

Read a querky book about "almost" love...

Rainey Sundays don't have to be dreary...
The sheading of light....can be a mini vacation.
Sunny Sunday to you all...xoxo~Kathy.

  1. Too right! I adore rainy Sundays! Hang in there!! Our mom had non-hodgkins lymphoma & our dad, prostate cancer in '99...and all is well.

  2. I'm a little worried - if you are the third grayest, we must be the first! However, I do love our cozy winter weather - it may be gray but at least it isn't freezing and our roads are merely wet - not slick!
    Happy Sunday,
    xx

  3. Kathy and Dave, thank you so much for your phone call today! Your love and encouragement, while you are going through your own "stuff," is a bright light shining in the world. You are a true example of what God's strength and grace can do when we walk closely with Him! All our love to you two! Our prayers are with you!!!!

  4. Hello Kathy...

Ohhh...I love your beautiful twinkly lights! Hmmm...so what if there is a rule? I think they are lovely and I love all the pretty candles that join them! I was noticing that we have the exact little glass candleholders...the ones with the little balls around the bottom edge! I think they are so pretty! Well my friend, enjoy your sweet book and your twinkly lights!!! Continued prayer and support coming your way, my dear!!!

    Warmest winter wishes,

  8. We have been having a super rainy day here. Our little self built pond looks like a lake now! So, I've been indoors attempting to organize that room. I still have white lights on the mantel too as it looks so warm and cozy. I also have some on a shelf in my guest bathroom which just looks too cute, and I am going to leave those too. When something makes a place look cozy and full of welcome, why change? Keeping thoughts with the two of you.

  10. Kathy-Attitude is everything isn't it? Your mantel is gorgeous--love all the different shapes and textures...and the light. We might as well embrace the gray with twinkle lights!

  13. A few important things that cancer cannot do...
    Luvyas, glenda

    Cancer is so limited...
    It cannot cripple love.
    It cannot shatter hope.
    It cannot corrode faith.
    It cannot eat away peace.
    It cannot destroy confidence.
    It cannot kill friendship.
    It cannot shut out memories.
    It cannot silence courage.
    It cannot reduce eternal life.
    It cannot quench the Spirit.

  14. Wow, I am encouraged that there are actually other grey, rainy and depressing days in a state other than where I am. Be sure you and your situation will be prayed for. After two rounds of cancer, chemo, more surgeries I am getting "friskie" again. May you and your family be blessed and healed.

  22. I love twinkle lights all year around. I have some on a small tree in my living room. It's on a timer, and although we don't spend much time in the living room,(we are usually in the family room), and I keep only one small lamp lit in there, my twinkle lights give the room a little coziness when they turn on every evening. Your photos came out so pretty. Love the soft lighting. Hugs!
