Kathy-I just read about your achilles tendon! I did this several years ago and it HURTS!! I was in a full cast-are you? Love the sweet jumper for Noelle and love your grandmother name. Take care of your foot!
I'm with you on this! I don't want to take my Christmas down either! Dear Son hates when I do even worse, so I have to warn him well in advance! I usually start with my kitchen, then the tree is the very last Christmas decoration to come down (sniff, sniff)... Anyways, I was supposed to start yesterday, but THEN came up with plenty of excuses NOT to, so I'll just have to do it today, I guess. Maybe it's a good idea to start looking for some Valentines Day projects and crafts to do, to keep my holiday spirit up! ~tina
It looks far too pretty to take down. I think it would be good for your healing process to prop your foot up and just absorb the beauty. :) The GW tree is gorgeous. Lucky find.
Kathy, LOVE your beautiful decorations...all crisp and white! Thanks for coming by grannymountain and adding me to your reading list. We are having Michigan weather here this week, brrr! joy c. in Arkansas
Oh Kathy, Everything looks absolutely beautiful. Love the colors of your living room. It would be difficult for me to take it all down too. It just all looks so pretty. Sorry to hear about your foot. Praying for a speedy recovery. Wishing you all the best for the new year.
Your home looks so cozy and comfy and I wouldn't want to take the Christmas decorations down, either. In your other post today I couldn't leave a comment but wanted to ask about your entertainment center. Ours looks like yours - what do you have on the right side holding the 'shelf' across the top? Is the shelf the door from the upright unit? I wanted to add a 'top' for display of more Christmas pieces but we didn't do it. Wondering how you supported yours. I wish I lived close enough to stop by, sit and chat and see it all in person! Thanks for sharing your home and life with us. Take care and get well. ~Adrienne~
Hi Kathy..I just sent it again..you perhaps have a filter? It is the right addy..I just now copied and pasted your email..and sent again? I think we have a wee problem:) We will figure it out!
I originally thought I would leave mine up for a few more weeks, since I put it all up so late. But after my dinner party on Sat. I decided to start first thing on Sunday morning. I have the garlands and tabletop decorations packed and ready, but I would venture to say that the 7 trees won't be done until the weekend! whew... Since you are incapacitated right now, you will be enjoying yours for a few weeks to come! It is very pretty, so I don't think any of your visitors will mind. Hope your New Year gets better and you start mending! I think I finally am. yea! ~ Sue
I just got mine down yesterday. It is sad to take it down. Love that little tree. Wish I could be there for the girlfriend's luncheon...I love that!! Stay warm!
Happy New Year Kathy, I just read about your achilles tendon. I have heard that is pretty painful. I hope it is healing well for you. I agree about the decorations, especially white lights, there is just something you cozy and romantic about the soft glow. I really enjoyed catching up on your blog.
You know what, Kathy? I love this room of yours so much that sometimes I just pull it up on your blog and stare at it. Once my neighbor was over and I had to show her too. Christmas decor or not, it is one of my very favorite in the Land Of Blog. Brenda
Sorry to read about your mis-step while painting. Feel better soon. The wall looks nice and crisp. I am catching up on blogging and agree that blogging has cut into my reading time but I am reading so much here and learning so much it is OK. I am so in love with the BF Contessa cookbooks. Her recipes are always a big hit with my family and friends. Now Julia is just the best as far as cooking goes! Joyce
Heal quickly and enjoy your beautiful Christmas deco a little longer. All of mine is put away except a few Santas and my back porch tree. The house looks really bare now compared to the sparkle of Christmas. Best to you,
Oh girl your home looks beautiful...now I hope you get to feeling better and soon...lay down read and eat lots of truffles ha ha!! Hey it works for me girl...at least until I get on the scale...Many blessings to you this coming year...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Don't worry... my Christmas will be up a few more days too. I've been so busy painting the master bathroom and getting ready to get my house on the market that I still haven't taken pictures of my Christmas decorations. Guess I can post those pictures next year... lol.
btw... I love the little round table with the scalloped trim.
I generally am not a pastel sort of person - more 'in your face Red' type, but I sure love your living room and table scapes. Makes me rethink a color palatette or two in my house.
Oh I am loving everything you share...would love to meet you someday...if nothing else to be included in your next Ladies Luncheon...your presentation is awesome...thanks for sharing. D.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me...I am always encouraged by your kind expressions and thoughtful comments....Know that you are loved....xoxo Kathy.
