Hello all...we are finally home from a long day of testing in Grand Rapids....I think the DRIVE was a little test this morning too...the roads were pretty slick.
Dave was scheduled for a "Thigh to eye" PET scan and then a brain CT. scan to follow.
The facility is amazing and the staff could not have been better in caring for our needs...
We arrived and immediately were shown to our "Suite"! (I'm thinking...? Suite?).
For the next three hours we stayed in our own little mini room complete with heated recliners...refreshments...full screen tv...heated blankets ...what ever you needed.
Dave was hooked up to an I.V. and over the course of the next two hours he drank and received fluids through his arm.
Then he was given the PET scan (20-min.) and taken to another room for a CT. scan of his head. On completion of the testing they brought in a snack and drink cart so Dave could get something in his system before leaving, as he had no food all day.
All-in-all, as enjoyable an experience as it could be.
While in transit we recieved phone calls from both the Colon Dr. and the Liver Drs. schedule visits on Monday , (Feb 1) hour apart! We were thankful they could coordinate them both on the same day and close together!
So Monday we will know FOR SURE... the PET scan results and the plan of "Attack" in it's totality.
We are thankful for the way things are going...and the speed to which things are rolling along.
David "feels" well and is using this time to catch up on reading, visiting some friends and just girding himself up for the months ahead...
About 9 months by the time we hopefully see the end....Just about the time of a normal pregnancy!!!! I told him ..."Just think!..You'll be born again! 9 months... What would he do without me!...Lol.
That's all for now...Hope that keeps you current and as always...we covet your prayers as we can feel that sweet sence of peace every time the boat starts to rock...

  9. Dear Sweet Kathy, You do not know me. You signed up for my drawing this morning and I had to come say hi. Thank you for stopping by! I just wanted to leave a not to let you know how encouraged I was as I read some of your posts as you and your "Love" are walking out this thing called life. It is hard I have come to realize, but the Lord is so good to sprinkle in smiles. We have walked some of the same that you are walking through with our mom's and dad's. If it weren't for the word of God we would not have made it. He spoke to us ever so sweetly through the His pages. I will pray Isa. 61 over you and your husband.
Thank you for running the race. I am sure there are days when you feel like you are on a roller coaster ride, but it is so wonderful you have all your precious friends praying for you. Add me to the list. I will be coming back and checking in so I can pray better. Nice to meet you Kathy.

    Blessings sweet family, Linda

  19. HI Kathy, thanks for stopping by my blog! Wow what a story I am praying for you both and all the medical staff and the rest of your family. I know just how you feel I have been there 8 years ago. My husband had a small tumor behind his eye and right temple. It was a journey, I'm glad we made it through, my kids were 3 & 4 at the time. You can make it through and survive, try not to think about it too much just live it through and do what you got to do. Hold his hand and kiss him a little longer it's good for both of you, take every chance you have to snuggle up I believe that love is a big part of the process. I wish you both the best!

  24. Morning Kathy,
Was so happy to hear things went so well in Grand Rapids, and that they took such good care of you and made the visit as pleasant as possible. That does give you a warm fuzzy I am just shows how much they understand how hard this all is, and are doing something to try and ease it a bit. Am so glad you don't have to wait weeks and weeks to get your results
4 days is plenty long enough, at times like this it can seem like 4 mos. Will sure be praying for the results and your visit back to the Drs.
on Monday. Praying the results will be way better than they originally thought or that maybe the Lord has just already taken care of it all together! You have a great attitude and a very sweet spirit!
