Making my bed ...

I noticed how inviting these white pillows looked ...

all stacked from the night before....

so I shot them before returning them to the bed...

Yummy...
Do you MAKE your bed every morning?...

If not done the moment I wake up...

Might never get done that day.

Just being real here!!!!!!

Shabby whitness...

A little chair I covered with a Garage sale find...

Have a comfy day...

An Update on my Love....

Yesterday We met with both the LIVER and COLON surgeons...

If a meeting of such importance could be inspiring...I must say It was.

They both reinstated their pleasure in how well the chemo, (God)...shrunk the Cancer tumors.

The surgeries are scheduled for the 4th of June, a week from this Friday.

Both surgeries will be done one after the other at the same time...AMAZING!

and...

The best part is...

The plan is to do them both Laproscopicly....We were shocked!

That would be hugh in the recovery time and severity.

I've been away from Nursing for some time so when the Liver Surgeon said he would be Micro-Waving the infected portions of the liver I thought I misunderstood him!

A prob goes deep into the liver and fries everything in it's path.

Sorry about the grapics....it's the Nurse in me...

anyway...I was happy to hear there is wonderful results with this technique.

Over a foot of colon will be removed...followed by a resection of the colon to the intestines...

Okay...

this is the best part...

No colostomy....

No change in bowl habits...if anything MAYBE a little looser stool....MAYBE....

Can I get a witness here to the Power of Prayer!!!!!!!!!!!

Recovery will be 6-8 weeks and then we will talk about maintenance chemo...

My Man is not excited about going under the knife...understandably...

but we are both excited about what we are hearing at this point!

"Every good and perfect gift is from the Father of Lights"

and we recognize this as a Gift from above...

As with any surgery there are risks...

We ask you pray specifically...No infection develops after the surgery....especially in the colon.

A bag would then be needed ,( another surgery)...for about three months until everthing heals.

We're having a Pre-op MRI this week to really see soft tissue around the colon and liver...

Praying no new surprises...

Anything new showing up could change Laproscopic into an incision from Dave's sternum to his pubic bone...

Much harder to heal from...

Thank you my friends and family...

wow!, What a ride this has been.

I saw this same intestinal resection done when I was in Nurses training...eons ago.

What I wouldn't give to be in that OR...for this surgery....

but I know that'll never happen ...

probably a good thing....

I know I couldn't keep my mouth shut!

Love...

xoxo~Kathy

  2. Dear Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about this thing. But I understood those news form the doctor were quite good for you and your husband right? (sorry, because of the language I missed some medical explanations). Anyway, I hope he can be better with this new surgery. You are a strong and fantastic woman, I can see it throught your words. He's lucky to have a positive person like you. It's nice to know you that better. I will keep you in my thoughts.

    Warm hugs, Zaira

  4. Oh Kathy, It is amazing how fast medicine is changing. I, too, am foreign to the medical field anymore, it's been so long. It sounds like all will go so well for your Dave. Amazing progress in that field of surgery. Good luck to him and my prayers are coming your way.
Love your bedroom, by the way...all the crisp white cases and lovely chair.

  10. Kathy....Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my garage sale mirrors on the cheap! I am going to post about the other one hopefully tonight when I get more time. I love your bedroom...so bright and cheery and white!....and I also love the chenille you used on the chair! I do make my bed every morning...not first thing but always in the morning. I do not like to get into an unmade bed at night! That sure sounds like good news for your husband! Isn't it a miracle what they can do lapaporoscopy(I can't spell that word). That should really heal so much faster and less pain! I will be praying for no infection to set in on the colon!~Hugs, Patti

  14. Morning Kathy,
Gorgeous pic of that orchid!! Also loved all your pillows stacked up and your painted green star
with the other stars, looks so neat!! also your chair came out so nice. I remember when my Mom had those chenille bedspreads, loved them. She had one with a big huge basket of flowers on it, it was so neat. I was only 4 but I remember it so vividly, course, now that I think about it, it is probably because of pics that I have seen of me and my brother in our jamies sitting on the bed!! lol
So sorry Dave will have to go thru this surgery, but so glad all the news about it is so much better than expected. Will sure be praying that
all goes as planned and for the Lord to direct the surgeons hands all the way. Wow, that they actually microwave stuff. Just amazing the strides they are making. My hubbies heart bypass was so much better too than what his Mom had gone thru just 6-7 yrs. before that. Her legs were all cut up trying to get veins, Jim only had 2 small incisions behind his knees, praise God!! Well, May the Lord continue to bless and bless, and May his recovery time go by quickly.
    Blessings hon,
    Nellie

  16. Oh, yes...Kathy...I will be a WITNESS to GOD in HIS healing. I have seen it over and over and over again throughout my looong life.
Your news is way over the top...I am so thankful.

And...most (I did say MOST but not every time) days, my spread on the bed is straightened and made ready for nighttime but seldom put ALL my pillows back on..just when company's coming or I just get in the mood. (mood for PILLOWS, that is!! heh heh)

  23. Hi Kathy!
You always bring such loveliness into our world.
Your stack of pillows is so lovely and the little chair with the chenille cover is so sweet. All things that I truly love.

I wish the best for your Dave. My son has Crohns disease and has gone through a resection.
A tough surgery, but it saved his life. He also had cancer when he was only 21 and we got through that. He is now 34 and got pass the cancer however the crohns is still a problem from time to time. We take it one day at a time and thank God that he is doing ok.
Your Dave will get through this and I wish you both the best.

    hugs
