Do you find that Blogging cuts into your reading time?...Just wondering....
I think it does mine....just a little...but then I learn so much from you out there, so I think it's a great trade...or maybe I sould say Addition...

Asked for these mags. for Christmas.....Thank You Santa!....

What's your reading preference?...

  1. Gosh..I even like all your books:)

I read Help while I was away..and liked it very much..I just read The Meesenger and liked that too..
My tastes are eclectic I guess and often judge a book by it's cover..Blogging has pulled me away from reading also..I can read on the beach..and that's about it for the moment..But some books grab me from page 1..

All your books hold an attraction to me:)

    Have fun!

  2. All those cookbooks and a pot of coffee on a sunny, snowy day....be still my heart!

I got an electronic reader (Sony) for Christmas. I've downloaded two books to it so far, but have only done a little reading on it. They say when you start reading you forget that it isnt a "real" book. We'll see.

  3. I know blogging and reading blogs has almost cut out my reading novels altogether. And I want to change that. I just somehow want to do both! Never enough time. I normally read the magazines that pile up at night. Then it's bedtime. Then it's morning. Time to eat breakfast. Have my coffee and check my email. And thus the day begins anew and still I haven't made a dent in the novels on my bookshelves! Too busy online.

  4. We seem to like a lot of the same books and magazines. I have a 1967 edition of Julia Childs cookbook. It had belonged to my sister and I have fond memories of her cooking from that book. Hope you have a Happy New Year!

  5. Hi, Kathy - I emailed you earlier that I couldn't get into your comments area to let you know I had been here. Now I came back to read your post again and take a closer look at your books and - viola! - I could get in to make a comment! I love your supply of books and your cookbooks. Guess I need to curl up with a good book this evening after the Rose Bowl game is over and our family heads home. Sounds like a good New Year's evening pastime.

  6. I, too, don't read as much as I used to. I love books that are actual diaries or letters written by women in the 19th century. They inspire me because of their hard lives. Rosie

  8. Nice selection of books and magazines! We have lots of books and magazines. I subscribe to: Home Companion (until it stopped...sob!), Living, Threads, Sew News, Taste of Home, Soap Digest, Better Homes and Garden. I'm thinking of letting my sewing mags go and maybe subscribe to some of the home decor mags. I love to read but blogging has taken time away from general book reading. I guess I will have to find a balance between all of my interests.

  9. I don't sew, so that saves me a lot of time :-)

I read every day. Every night, actually. I can't fall asleep if I don't read at least a couple of paragraphs. Then I read in the bathtub as well. I go through books like a hot knife through butter. My problem is getting English books here in Belgium. I read French and Italian, but to relax, I want English.

You've got some great cookbooks there. I think you must cook a little! You're hiding your light, I'm thinking...

You know what's missing from your cookbook collection? NIGEL SLATER! You'll be glad you found him. I know I am. We can start a fan club!

  11. Just read about your ladder accident. Now you have a great excuse to SIT and rest and read all those books and magazines you received for Christmas. Sadly, my reading time has been shortened by all the blog reading I do. Have shelves and shelves of books that I want to get to but run out of time by the end of the day.
Hope you are back to normal soon. Happy New Year.

  12. All your books look wonderful to me. I love anything Somerset puts out! My daughter loves cookbooks!...and Julia! I buy more books than I'll ever read. It's a weakness. I guess I think the information will just fly over and sink in somehow.
