A little birdie told me it was time for an "UPDATE"....so here goes...
David has just been disconnected from his third chemo round this evening...
He is eating well and not experiencing any nausea at all...Praise God!..
He is starting to get anemic which is common, and has had a couple of nosebleeds...
This evening he would tell you he is the most tired he has ever felt and I expect tomorrow he will do a lot of sleeping...
We are hoping to celebrate our 40th Anniversary this weekend....tired or not it is amazing to have lived and loved for 40 years...we are blessed.
Dave continues to have sensitivity to cold in his fingertips....nothing dramatic.
Last week he even ran a few miles while I was walking....he seems to have more stamina the week he is off the chemo.
At this point...our biggest struggle is our emotions...we both cry often and then we talk one another out of it and before you know it we're tearing up again...
It's a freakin "Rollercoaster" of emotions....exhausting.
We both are very secure in the Lord and witness His presence daily....it's the waiting....Neither of us claims waiting a virtue....but we're learning. We have 6 more weeks to go before we know if the Chemo has done it's job.
As always We both send you all our heartfelt Thanks for your Prayers, Cards, e-mails, loving wishes and sweetest of conversations....
We continue to ask for your prayers as we have witnessed first hand their comfort...
AND NOW FOR A LITTLE QUESTION AND ANSWER....
SOME OF YOU HAVE ASKED ME THE COLORS IN MY LIVING ROOM...
They are "Butter" from Restoration Hardware...
"Mint Frappe" Behr, from Home Depot...
"Creamy White" Behr, also Home Depot...
The pale pink accents I've mixed myself so hard to tell you what that is...I just took a gallon of white and added a coral that I had until I had just the palest pink...didn't take much coral to get the pink I liked.
Hope that is helpful...
WHAT PATTERN DID YOU USE FOR YOUR BAGS...
I used AMY BUTLERS pattern called "THE SWING BAG"...It's reversible...easy and a good "Jack of all trades" bag.
WHAT IS THE COLOR YOU USED ON THE BLUISH GREEN ACCENTS ABOVE YOUR KITCHEN CUPBOARDS?...
I mixed that myself too....not very helpful am I?...
WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PINK BOWL ON THE BENCH IN THE LIVING ROOM?
T.J.Maxx...Who-hoo!
Welllllll.....that's all I can remember for now...Hope your having fun these days ...haven't we had some beautiful sunshine for March!!!! A few showers coming...but that's okay , it brings flowers!!!
My love to you all...xoxo~Kathy.

Hokey toot Kathy! Why haven't we found each other before this??? You're SO close...what? About 2 hours or less? Your home is just so lovely...I have been scrolling down to peek at your older posts! And your newest Amy Butler bag? Whoa! Be still my heart! Don't know if that is something I could try...I am a novice seamstress, at best. But...I think I might give it a shot! The fabric is what caught my eye....that bird!
ReplyDeleteLet's be sure to keep in touch, and I will be praying for your dear hubby. (Farmboy and I will have our 39th this fall!)
xoxo,
Cindy
Morning Kathy,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that Dave is doing as well as he is! I remember how tired my sister was...it usually started a day after her chemo and would last almost a week, but fortunately she was not sick, and could eat like your Dave, but it still very discouraging cause sometimes you feel like you will never be the same. We will sure keep praying for you guys, it is a tumultuous time emotionally and the time seems to drag by.
Congratulations on your 40th Anniversary that is coming this week. How Wonderful, you are very blessed my friend!! and so am I, we will celebrate our 40th in November of this year.
It is amazing to think about isn't it, that it could be that long, but you love the person even more now than ever, what a blessing that is in todays society.
Will pray Dave will be feeling much better by
your Anniversary so you can celebrate a little at least!!
Blessings and prayers hon,
Nellie
Dear Sweet Kathy...
ReplyDeleteWishing you a blessed and happy 40th Anniversary this weekend. It is such a rare thing to find and be with your true love in this life. How blessed you both are. Please know we will be lifting you, David and your entire family in prayers for a perfect outcome in every way. It just occurred to me that, in a way, this is akin to "dispersing the burden" of worry for you... except that instead of dispersing a negative (grief) you are gathering a bundle of positives i.e., Faith. God's blessings, joy, wisdom and strength to you all.
Love,
Tracey
P.S. A thousand thanks for your comforting comments and prayers with/for us...they are truly and warmly felt. x0x
Dearest Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI just love your sweet soul, you are a brave and loving woman and it warms my heart that you and David have had 40 years to love each other. Those 40 years are the strength you both need to get through this...and get through this you will, I just know it and your love story will continue my friend!
Please know that you and David are loved and prayed for and thought of often!
