"FALLERIZING"....the ART of Transition...

Are you as nutty as I am about decorating for the Seasons?....Last night it went down to 36 here in Northern Michigan with the threat of frost tonight...time to...."FALLERIZE"...!!!!! I like to think I made that name up but I'm sure many have used it before me!..."Fallerizing",,, the art of making ones home look as though it has turned the corner from summer to the crisp days of Autumn.... I "Fallerized most of the day...big project!!! Here's some shots that I hope inspire....Looking forward to making some Fall Tags soon too...

I get a little crazy with this process....not a single room escapes...

A homemade pumpkin I put together Years ago...the smaller ones live with my Grandchildren....I put a little spring nest in there too, guess I'm not all that ready to give into Fall...

I FEEL LIKE A BUTTERFLY...WAITING, WAITING, WAITING TO BREAK OUT OF THIS PRESENT HOUSE...

This pretty well sums it up for us today....we are locked in time waiting now for this house to move.....I can understand how a butterfly must feel...encased in that silk cave waiting to break out... I shot these beautiful butterflys at Mackinac Island this summer....hope you enjoy them.

We will wait............but I'm not sure how patiently.... patients even though it is a virtue...has never been my strong suit.....Sweet Sunday my friends, xoxo~Kathy.

What kind of fragrant, beautiful, "SILENT HAPPINESS surrounds your home?...

As I scrutinize my home through the eyes of a potential buyer...as our house is now on the market....I am amazed at the vast roll "Flowers" play in our surroundings, inside and out... I was hard pressed to find any space void of them in some form or another... Outside...

On clothing ...such as this little childs sweater...

Inside...On lampshades....and watering cans above.... and little blossoms in a bird cage...

Even flowers that tell time...

Petals of silent happiness everywhere.....

Papered and painted on little chairs brightening the back porch...

They are growing through every fence....

and perched on little cottage chairs...

You can even bike around town on your own little bouquet!!!...

What would we ever do without them? ....Amazing what the presence of flowers can do asthetically... Go smell a few today and try not to smile!!!! enjoy the fragrance of the day my friends, xoxo~Kathy.

Lets see.....WHAT CAN I MAKE OUT OF RHUBARB , SAND AND CEMENT.....

I promised to show you the cement leaf my girlfriends and I made at a fun class we took!!!...We had such a good time making these and soooo EASY to do! We are already -planning another day of fun soon...
We used giant Rhubarb leaves for the impressions.....Just take some wet sand and form a hill then place the leaf bottom up on the hill...cut off the big steam so it doesn't stick through the bottom. Mix cement...( we added a hardener also), pat it on top of the leaf about 2" thick...just to the edge of the leaf. Cover with plastic so it doesnt dry too fast...wait a couple days......

Then peal the leaf off and use a sharp knife GENTLY to remove the thick veins...If you don't get them all, not to worry, they will just rot off eventually.Keep out of the sun and let cure for about a week. Brush it off and clean it up!!!!Voila.....You got it goin on girl!!!!! Oh!!! One little tip I forgot to tell you....Before you put the cement on the leaf spray it with a cooking spray first. Helps the leaf come away from the cement easier...

The gal we took lessons from made smaller leaves too on posts in her yard with lights underneath...seriously cute. Flat ones also for stepping stones...can you just see a path made out of these..... How easily do THINGS pass through your fingers?...

How easily do you let things go?....I was advised years ago by a very wise woman to "Hold onto the THINGS of this world lightly"... I have watched a huge amount of Worldly possessions pass through my fingers this week. Some I have enjoyed for over 30 some years...now it is time for someone else to enjoy them....Goodbye Butter Churn...

Make someone happy "Yarn Spinner"...

Tootles "Spinning Wheel"....How was that for letting go?....actually, very liberating in a sense.

AN UPDATE ON OUR CRAZY BUT HAPPY LIFE....

Just a little message to let you all know how much I'm missing all the fun and interaction in the Blogger world... Even though I am not having the time right now to chat with you all, I have been silently visiting a few of you each evening when I finally sit down, (exhausted)...I love hearing what your all up too and long to have the time to join in too...Soon, I hope. We had a hugh sale this last weekend, with another coming up this week. So much to sort through but I'm making great headway! There is a fine line in de-cluttering!!! Must leave enough to "Stage" the house successfully! My man and I are both very excited to be moving closer to the majority of our family. Hopefully it will be sooner then later...This market has made house sales a challenge...but we are up for it! To my praying friends...we would covet your prays for a swift and successful sale of our home we have so enjoyed....ON TO THE NEW ADVENTURE!!!!!....Missing you all my "Sweeties".......xoxo~Kathy

We're on the Move....

We are moving on...I will be checking in on you all occassionally the next few weeks ...We are in transition mode, Selling our house and making a move...always exciting but a ton of work too...so my friends keep the blog world humming...I shall enjoy looking in on you in the evenings when I sit down to relax....Will miss blogging ...the up-side is it's only temporary. Will be thinking of you all, xoxo~Kathy. Like the Canadian Geese....we're on the move!!!

My chairs are being taken over by Golf Loving, Card Playing, Food Consuming, Testosterone!!!!

Here are my favorite places to park myself and connect with my "Blogger" friends...as you can see...EMPTY...at least BY ME for this weekend. My man organizes a hugh golf outing once a year, ( this saturday) which entails a whole lot of testosterone in my home tonight. Breakfast early tomorrow as we dash to the course...they golf...I and a dear friend drive the "Refreshment Cart"...( which I must say we laugh ourselves silly over), followed by a caterered lunch and auction. This has been a great fund raiser for our local church for years Sooooo.... While I'm away from my favorite "Ports of Rest" please do me the favor of trying each spot and enjoying yourself before the Testosterones....arrive!
