THE VINTAGE STRUCTURES OF MACKINAC ISLAND...

Welcome to Mackinac Island... A little island between the Upper and the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. No cars on the island only Bikes and horse drawn carriages. We took this boat called the "Cadillac", ( which is where I'm from), how strange was that!, over to the Island. We brought our own bikes with us and biked around the Island twice. We put about 20 mi. on our bikes that day...Fun, Fun and we enjoyed the most perfect weather as you can see... This post features some of the amazing old world and Newer structures that give Mackinac that special flavor that keeps you coming back for more...

The "Grand Hotel" which is Mackinac's claim to fame... the photo was taken from the boat on the ride over...A moving shot... "Somewhere in Time" was filmed here with Christopher Reeves...

I adore this Island Library and had to get you a shot of the inside....I LOVE the colors...
When you walk in the front door you can look right through the building to the big water... It is a wonderful building...

The Island is full of Bikes everywhere and thousands of tourists. Every other store on main street is a Fudge store... Will show more of the sites tomorrow, today just structures...
