How easily do you let things go?....I was advised years ago by a very wise woman to "Hold onto the THINGS of this world lightly"... I have watched a huge amount of Worldly possessions pass through my fingers this week. Some I have enjoyed for over 30 some years...now it is time for someone else to enjoy them....Goodbye Butter Churn...
Sweet Kathy..May I offer up a sweet prayer for the swift sale of your beloved cottage..and I know, without a doubt, this move is going to be just perfect for you and yours. GOD does things like that..don't you love HIM so much? I do!!
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted as you move on with a new season of your lives.
hugs, bj
Thank You bj...You most certainly can my friend and YES...we do love HIM, and there in lies our peace, xoxo~Kathy...

Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteAlthough you're letting go of some pretty amazing treasures you received some very wise advice indeed! A couple of years ago I left behind all of my earthly possessions and had two suitcases to my name and there is very little that I miss.
Good luck with everything and I'm sending good thoughts and love your way.
Hugs,
Karyn
Hi Kathy~ I'm sure there are better things in store for you when you make this move. When God closes one door he always opens another one and usually it is better. I will keep you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Pat
That is why you are so serene:)
ReplyDeleteI sense that in you and your family.
Thank you for sharing valuable lessons.
You are so right.
Thanks for the reminder.
Those were wonderful things Kathy.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in my thoughts during this transition.
In 2008 we sold the house our girls grew up in. At first I thought they would not forgive us, but it was time to move on and deep down inside we all knew it.
ReplyDeleteIt's awfully hard to let go of THINGS. I try and remember what my mother used to say: "If it doesn't bleed, don't worry about it."
Best of luck to you; I hope the sale of your house goes quickly and smoothly, and that you move on to your next adventure!

Letting go of belongings is hard for me, but it seems this is all for a very good reason. Looking forward to reading more of your blog and getting to know you. ;)

Kathy...
ReplyDeleteSo very nice to "meet" you! I had so much fun looking over your blog and drooling over your sweet grandchildren pictured to the right!. Thanks so much for visiting me~
Blessings...
What good advice--I have learned with time that if money can replace it (even if I don't have it at the time :) it's not worth worrying over. I am sure this is a very freeing experience and it seems you do know where your treasures are--keeping you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteMaking a decision is the hardest part. After that its like a weight off your shoulders. Its not "getting rid of", its passing on for someone else to adopt and love and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteChange you didnt initiate isn't fun. But its like being in the Ocean, you can let the waves beat you down or learn to ride them.
Oh just think of the marvelous times and wonderful memories that await you at your new home. Change is a part of life and I'm sure those older possessions will be replaced with newer ones that soon become just as treasured. Blessings to you as you move on to new horizons.

I have learned to "let go" the hard way. I wish I had practiced letting go..with things before I had to do it with people...
ReplyDeleteNew doors will open and new things will brighten your already wonderful and "crazy" life! :)
I am happy for you...SO darned happy. It's so much fun watching peoples lives unfold around me.
You, also are loved!
Mona
Those items you had to let go sure pulled at my heartstrings because they are just the kind of things I love. So sorry you had to let them go. I hope for the best to come to you in this move. Much happiness! Twyla
