TEXTURES are huge to me...
Fabric...
glass.
paper...
paint...
wood...
all have such wonderful textures...
When I was very little ...I sucked my thumb...( did she just admit that?)
Yes... I did.
and I had a favorite fluffy stuffed bear, which I plucked the hairs out of and put the fuzz in the crook of my index finger and rubbed my nose with it while sucking my thumb.
Now before you sign me up for therapy, I happen to know quite a few of you did the same thing!.
It was comforting!!!!
The soft fuzzy feel on your nose...I put myself to sleep at night this way. We all like to feel comforted...
Nothings better then a soft fuzzy blanket to snuggel under when your chilled.
Now that I'm older...(and definately would need therapy If I still sucked my thumb)...I've found a new comforter.
The God of all Comfort. I've traded my bald bear for the comfort that never disappoints.
Thank You Lord for being my fuzzie...in this uncertain time.
Have a wonderful weekend my peeps!
xoxo~Kathy
Hi Kathy!
ReplyDeleteI just love your shabby rose necklace, it's so cute!
and your table makeover is gorgeous! it's amazing how something so outdated can be transformed into 'prettiness', right!
and the god of all comfort will sustain and keep you sound...no matter what it is we must endure!
my thoughts are with you...

Yep, I'd say He's about as good as comfort gets!

Comfort comes in many shapes, sizes and forms! I got my comfy feel by wearing my socks into bed and then taking them off as soon as I got snuggled in. I just loved the feel of the sheets on my toes after them having been cramped up in socks!! To each his own I always say! I still enjoy that feeling, but you are so right, my faith is the greatest comforter of all! xxoo
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful sunny happy weekend too.....my dear Kathy !!!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings from me Ria
It is a great comfort. My son used to suck on his bottle while twisting the hair around his finger on the crown of his head. He did it so much that he had a bald spot there! :) The hair grew back eventually.

What a great job you've done with the table and the roses. Just discovered your blog!!! NICE NICE...
ReplyDeleteWish you a wonderful weekend,

What a beautifully thoughtful post. (I was a thumb sucker too!)
ReplyDeleteGood morning~
ReplyDeleteKathy I sucked my thumb until I was 10..Had the thumb bump..I used cotton balls(In a long roll it was back then..but my mom would tear off a piece and give it to me)..I would rub it on my nose..:)
Thinking of you~
I have a fave blanket..and all my grandsons do too..thanks to their moms..
I think a blanket..a heating pad..any comfort that can comfort..is indispensable.
You mentioned the Greatest.
Your collage is so pretty.. DGD♥..and the shoe horns? Never seen those.
Wonderful post, Kathy!! Absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeletePraise be to God! I was so missing my mom this morning and got up to be met with a glorious sunrise.
ReplyDeleteI adore your wee little shoe trees.
Both of my kids were blankie lovers and I replaced the satin binding numerous times as they wore it out my rubbing it. :)
Lovely post, Kathy. Love thinking and whispering those words....the God of all Comfort...because it immediately soothes my soul.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but I haven't received your last mail.

Kathy....The secret is out now! lol...Seriously, I loved the post...good analogy!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteI sucked my thumb too, Kathy! My mother made me wear gloves to bed at night and put some kind of pepper stuff on during the day. She always told me that's why I needed braces. Never belived that because I raised 3, only one sucked his thumb but all three needed braces!
ReplyDeleteWe all need comforting; you especially during this difficult time. I can't comfort you in person, but you do have a friend in me...a former Michigander friend. They are the best kind! :)
Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteWell, I'd say you made the best exchange for that thumb sucking comfort!! God is the BEST COMFORTER
ever, you are so right!!
I am so glad you have Him during this uncertain
and difficult time. Don't know how people ever
make it thru without Him! I sure wouldn't want to try!!
Praying for you and Dave,
I know it is gonna be a long 3 weeks hon,
One of my friends here, is just beginning your journey with her hubby. He is about to begin
chemo, but has pneumonia, so they have to get
that cleared up first. He had a bone marrow test done today as they are still trying to decide what stage Lymphoma he has. My heart goes out to all of you!!
Love and Blessings,
Nellie
