Remember the coasters a few posts back?... Well, I had some fabric left and decided to make this star pillow...and I'm glad I did. No pattern...I just used a star I already have hanging on the wall ...traced it onto the fabric...cut out two pieces...sew together with right sides facing...leave an opening...stuff with fiberfill and whipstitch closed...sew two buttons on with quilting or upholstery thread...voila!!!...
Good Morning Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteIt's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Oh how I love your star. How simple and elegant is that? I love the button you have chosen as well. It makes it so elegant. I love the tea lights on your mantel. Crystal clear. Thanks for sharing.
I am going to have to make two of those star pillows. One for each end of the couch. I think I will make mine out of stained muslin, as I am making my living room all woodsy and natural for the holidays.
Thanks so much again for the wonderful idea. Great job sweetie.
Country hugs...Sherry
Ahh..the buttons are perfect! I'd say super cute chippy..
ReplyDeleteIt's raining today but usually our Christmas is whiteHope so..!
I am very traditional. I love your white, but I am still a red and green girl. I put up two large Christmas trees and eight small ones. I know I'm crazy. It's just me there to enjoy them and all my friends say why bother...but I love the glow of the lights and the memories of the many different ornaments that have adorned my trees over the years, many of them handmade. My friends love them too when they come to visit.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteWell, when I get around to it my mantle will be in the traditional reds and greens. I love the white look but I can't pass up RED and green. RED is my most favorite color - has been since I was a little girl. Merry Christmas!

You did a great job on the star and I think that the buttons make it even better!
ReplyDeleteThe pillow is stunning. What a fabulous idea. You did such a beautiful job and I love the button. Your other decorations are just wonderful too. Also I hope to see you at the "Holiday Cloche Party". Mr. Linky will be up tonight. See you then. Hugs, Marty

I have the best of both worlds! :-)

I love that pillow Kathy! My Christmas is always red and white, but I'm leaning more toward white this year.
ReplyDeleteMine is always traditional red and green with lots of silver and gold. Can get boring maybe, but it always floats my boat!
ReplyDeleteKathy...This is a darling Pillow. Truly it is. I'm always so inspired by what I see when I come for a visit. I wish you lived close by. We'd surely have soo much fun together.
ReplyDeleteLove to you~
Rebecca
