SPRINGERLE....HOW SWEET THE SMELL...

Happy Thursday morning Christmas preparation....










Even though this is a German cookie below.....It has been a favorite of our Norwegian Christmas's for decades...
Springerle recipe... 4 eggs- beat til light
4 cups powdered sugar-add gradually and beat for 15 min.
20 drops Anise oil-(I use more)...
4 cups flour
1 tesp. baking powder.- add the last three ingredients gradually...
crushed anise seed- left mine whole...

Let the dough rest...( covered)... for about 15 min. before rolling out on a floured surface...
leave dough quite thick ....pictures turn out better....
flour your Springerle roller and press firmly as you roll over the dough....Ahhhh! Trim the edges and divide the cookies with a sharp knife and transfer to floured waxed paper to rest...



They look peacefull....I think they're resting!!!!!
