SANTA WOULDN'T DARE LEAVE A STICK AND A PIECE OF COAL IN THIS STOCKING!!!...

After changing my cottage colors to pastels the traditional Christmas stocking had to change also...instead of purchasing , I decided to knit one...to compliment my decor... White, Pink, Green and of course a little BLING!..

I used different types of yarn, synthetic, cotton and an angora for the cuff... The bling are buttons sewed on last...A fun Christmas project...

A little fringy ball on the toe!...

The heel....the tricky part... Once finished ...filled with cotton batting to give it some shape and stuck in some silvery glittered branches...Merry Christmas to me!...

I do like the results...

Use your favorite sox pattern and just elongate the leg section to your liking... NOT a KNITTER?...Hit the Goodwill or Thrift store of your choice and buy a sweater that catches your eye...Cut out the shape and sew it up! The embellishing is the fun part!...Have fun with this! xoxo~Kathy...

  4. Hi Kathy! Oh, what a beautiful knitted stocking you've made. Love the soft colors you've used and the little extras - the fluffy yarn for the 'cuff' and the little pom pom on the toe. So sweet. I sure wish I could knit. I can crochet, but just never learned to knit.
    Be a sweetie,

  8. What a lovely stocking! I adore the angora cuff -- very nice touch! You knit very well too! I've done sweaters, hats, etc., but never attempted a sock. Unless baby booties count!

  12. Hi Kathy,
How pretty - from the soft colors to the yarn choices! It is beautifully made. I don't knit either, but I am crocheting again. Yesterday I made my first crocheted snowflakes (thanks to Lucy at Attic24 sharing her pattern!). Doesn't it warm your heart to make something especially when it brings memories of your grandmother. I remember my material grandmother showing me how to crochet at a very early age.
