SHEER DELIGHT...

I cannot imagine my life without color...
especially when it comes to fabric.
Haveing 5 sweet Grandaughters to sew for completes the blessing.
I showed this little dress on a previous post with a shabby rose on the shoulder...
Changed my mind!...she's a ballerina kind of girl and I thought this little flower looked more like her!
That's the fun of sewing....Noooo-one's the BOSS of you!!!!!
Remember saying that when you were little?... "Your Not the Boss of Me!"...Ha!
Who am I kidding....I still think it at times!!!!

Don't these colors say "SUMMER"...!!!!
Finished products to follow soon...!

Started cutting this out today....

Fabric is so wonderful today...a good quilt store carries the best selection of colors and patterns.
If your going to put all the hours and effort into making a creation...You should get the best fabric you can afford.
It will stand the test of time...and who knows ..It could become an Heirloom.

One of my Grandaughters wore the dress to Kindergarten, that her mommy wore the first day of school...
That made me smile!
(Wow....just realized I've been sewing a while!)

I'm sewing...
xoxo~Kathy

  1. Hi Kathy,
This little dress is the sweetest ever. I love how you mixed the fabrics and I like the rosette,
so sweet and very ballerina like. I know she is going to look like a big doll baby in it.
Love your fabrics too and I cannot wait to see what you are going to make.

  3. Hi Kathy! What a sweet little dress! LOVE the flower!.. I couldn't help noticing the little heart pins you have in your pincushion!.. So CUTE! I have butterflies pins, but the funny thing is, I have to watch the cat, because he tries to pull them out!.. Not the other pins, JUST the butterfly pins! I guess they're just bigger and easier to run off with!.. Well, then he bats them around the floor. I don't like to worry about stepping on them, so I can never leave that pincushion out in his sights! I have to hide it!.. Anyways, love all your pretty new fabrics, and I can't wait to see what you'll be making with them! ~tina

  7. Hi Kathy,

Oh how I wish I could have had a girl...I have three grown sons and two grandsons that I adore, but I still wish I had a girl. My grandmother made me the cutest dress when I was around three years old that I have hanging in my craft room. I will have to post it someday!!
I love this little dress that you made it is so fresh and sweet, with the cutest little flower.

    Enjoy my dear friend,

    Susan

  11. Oh how I wish I could sit down beside you while we sew together... Maybe then I could truly get the hang of it! I can do the simple stuff, like pillows... But that's where it ends for me, I'm afraid. I would love to be able to create clothes for my daughter the way you do for your granddaughters!!
    Great job!
