Did you make sweet little dolls out of Hollyhocks when you were young?... We passed many hours using those lovely blooms as Princess dresses, and Fairy skirts...changing the colors, such fun we had using our imaginations...
These girls have grown quite tall...
Wouldn't this one make a nice dress?...
You can see we've had a little rain...
I will save the seeds from the old blooms and plant them for next years crop...a natural cycle...and one I look forward too...Enjoy this weekend my friends, we are off to a Golf weekend and hoping it doesn't rain...xoxo~Kathy
Our daughter had hollyhocks all across the front of the house, honey, they are beautiful.. Yours are beautiful as they come.... I am hoping to plant some next year!!!!
Yes, I did make Hollyhock ladies when I was little and we played with them for hours! I've never known anyone else who did it though! Have a wonderful weekend!
These lovely, old fashioned flowers will always be one of my favorites. I MUST plant some next spring. My mother always had them growing at the back of her veggie gardens and I think of her every time I see them. She's been gone almost 21 years...bwaaaa, I still miss her so much.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me...I am always encouraged by your kind expressions and thoughtful comments....Know that you are loved....xoxo Kathy.
I adore hollyhocks, though, I've never planted any. Thanks for sharing your photos!
